State of the Cooperative

2017 was another good year for your cooperative!


We have been working hard to keep your rates as low as possible for as long as possible, and we thank you for your support and your membership to the Cooperative.


By the time you read this article, the new Kenmare Outpost should be nearing completion. We are very proud of this facility and look forward to the increased efficiencies and service we will achieve for members in the eastern third of our system. We hope to start the move from our current facilities to the new one later in the month.


We continue to work on the Automated Metering Infrastructure system. The winter is slowing us down a bit, but we should finish deployment later next summer. This system replaces an older system that was at the end of its useful life. It will bring additional information into our billing software that will be visible to members through our SmartHub application.  Members will be able to view hourly, daily, and monthly usage from any device that you would like.


2018 will be the last year of our current work plan. A couple of examples of projects we hope to complete in 2018 including upgrading the Greenbush Substation located in the Kenmare area and numerous distribution upgrades to the system to increase reliability.
