Annual Meeting and Cooperative update amid Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
As a part of your community, and as a provider of an essential service, we are determined to continue delivering the reliable power you need while helping to protect the health and safety of everyone around us.
We, at Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative, are taking additional precautions to ensure the co-op is prepared to keep the lights on. We are focused on maintaining a healthy workforce so that we can continue to provide the excellent service you expect from us.
Our offices are closed to walk-in traffic due to health and safety concerns for our employees, members, and community. This includes our outposts in Kenmare and Crosby.
Calls for service where employees need to enter a member’s home or business will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Employees may ask if you have been sick or have traveled to an area where positive cases of COVID-19 are present.

We ask our members who typically pay in-person at our office to use the payment drop box located at the front of our Columbus office or another payment method.
The annual meeting scheduled for June 10, 2020, has been postponed. This includes the director elections process. The current directors will remain in office until such time as the annual meeting is re-scheduled or a special meeting of the Cooperative is held.
Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative had a strong 2019. We are proud and confident in our management and employees here at the coop. We were really looking forward to celebrating the milestone of our 75th year with you, the members, at our annual meeting this June. It was not our desire to delay your annual membership meeting; however, due to the health concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic, we feel that it is prudent that we avoid having this gathering at this time.
We will, as usual, send out our annual report and yearly financial results to the membership in May and will keep you posted on when we feel the time is right to hold our membership meeting.
We will continue to keep up-to-date with information regarding COVID-19 and follow recommendations from federal and state agencies. We will provide updates to the cooperative’s business operations and plans for an annual meeting through the North Dakota Living magazine, website, social media, and bill messages.
