October Message from the Manager
Celebrating National Co-op Month
Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative is, once again, joining with other cooperatives nationwide in October to celebrate National Co-op Month, which recognizes the many ways cooperatives are committed to strengthening the local communities we serve.
“Co-ops Commit” is the theme for this year’s celebration, spotlighting the countless ways cooperatives meet the needs of our members and communities.
As the nation’s 30,000 cooperatives celebrate National Co-op Month this October, it is a great time to take a look back – and a look forward.
Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative was founded in 1945 when neighbors worked together to bring electricity to our rural community. The co-op – on behalf of the member-owners – committed to provide the community with electricity.
Fast forward to today – and tomorrow. Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative delivers electricity to more than 1,400 member-owners in our service area. Delivering safe, reliable, affordable power is our top priority, but we are also invested in our communities because we are locally owned and operated.
We invite you to join us in celebrating National Co-op Month by attending a Co-op Month event being hosted in your area.

In addition to our public Co-op Month events this month, co-op employees will also be participating in our Community Service Day. The project selected for this year is the installation of playground equipment at the new Crosby Kids Daycare facility.
We understand the spirit that helped create this co-op must be continually nurtured. While times and technology will continue to change, our commitment to our members will not.
Until next time,
