Sharing Success grants awarded
Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the recipients of the 2019 Sharing Success grants.
City of Columbus
The city of Columbus was awarded $4,995 to develop a community park and install playground equipment at the former Columbus School location. Jerry King, BDEC general manager, presented the check to JoAnn Lunstad, Mayor of Columbus, and Brooke Watterud, project lead.
Crosby Park District
The Crosby Park District was awarded $4,995 to use towards the new community swimming pool. LuAnn Unhjem, Operation Round Up Board member, presented the check to Crosby Parks Director Brock Harward.
Kenmare Park District
The Kenmare Park District awarded $4,995 to purchase and install playground equipment in Kenmare historic Danish Mill park. Member Services Manager Heidi Haugen-Grohs presented the check to Kenmare Park Board President Arlen Gartner.

The Sharing Success matching grant program is a partnership among Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative, CoBank and Basin Electric Power Cooperative.
CoBank is a cooperative lending institution that provides loans and other financial services to vital industries throughout rural America including agribusiness, water, communications and power providers. The Sharing Success matching grant program was launched by CoBank in 2012 as a way to highlight the International Year of Cooperatives. The program was designed to celebrate the vital role that cooperatives play in individual communities across the country.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative is a wholesale electric generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in Bismarck that provides electricity to electric cooperatives in nine states, including Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative. Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s Charitable Giving Program exists to distribute funds to a wide range of programs for the greatest social and economic benefit for the Cooperative’s membership, employees and communities.
