Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative has hired Derrick Handeland, Alex Casteel and Tyler Haats as lineworkers.
Handeland, who is from Kenmare, is a 2024 graduate of the lineworker program at Bismarck State College (BSC). Handeland enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. He works with the Columbus line crew.
Casteel, who is from Columbus, is a graduate of the lineworker program at BSC. He is a member of the U.S. Army Individual Ready Reserve and enjoys hunting and exercising in his spare time. Casteel works with the Crosby line crew.
Haats holds a degree in utility technologies from Mitchell Technical College and brings 13 years of power line construction and maintenance experience to the co-op. Haats and his wife, Brittany, live in Kenmare with their daughter, Cora, who is 4 years old. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Tyler works with the Kenmare line crew.
