Burke-Divide Electric Cooperative (BDEC) is proud to announce Director Jeff Dahlin was recently awarded the Director Gold Credential by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). This prestigious certification is a testament to Dahlin’s dedication to continuous learning and excellence in leadership within the electric utility industry.
The Director Gold Credential is designed for directors who go above and beyond in their commitment to education, surpassing the requirements of the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) and Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) programs.
To earn the Director Gold certificate, a director must first complete the CCD and BLC programs, then earn an additional three credits from the BLC series of courses. Unlike other certifications, the Director Gold Credential also requires ongoing education, with directors needing to complete three credits of approved coursework or conferences every two years to maintain their status.
In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, electric cooperative directors must stay informed about changes in the utility industry, develop new governance skills and maintain a deep understanding of cooperative principles and business models.
Congratulations to Director Dahlin for this significant accomplishment!
