The Operation Round Up Board met in September and awarded the following grants:
Operation Round Up
- The Columbus Community Club received $2,500 to construct a basketball court at Cougar Park.
- The Divide County Roughriders 4H Club received $700 to maintain its Little Free Libraries in Noonan and Fortuna.
- The Kenmare Park District received $700 to purchase supplies for its First Lego League team.
RDFC
As a member of the Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC), Burke-Divide Electric had the opportunity to provide $3,000 in grants to organizations within the Cooperative’s service area.
- The Burke Central Physical Education Department was awarded $1,000 to purchase rebounders for physical education classes.
- The Bowbells Ambulance Service was awarded $1,400 to purchase a new ambulance.
- The remaining $600 was used to support the High School Summer Electrical Trades Camp.
Sharing Success
In partnership with CoBank and Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Burke-Divide Electric awarded $19,000 in grants to organizations within the Cooperative’s service area.
- The Bowbells Ambulance Service was awarded $7,000 to purchase a new ambulance.
- The Mohall Ambulance Service was awarded $3,000 to replace AED pads and batteries for machines located throughout Renville County.
- The Powers Lake Rural Ambulance District was awarded $3,000 to purchase AED training pads for use in its community CPR training program.
- The Powers Lake School Ag Education department was awarded $6,000 to purchase new tools and equipment for the school’s Vo-Ag shop.
The application deadline for the next round of Operation Round Up grants is March 15, 2025.
